Charminar Zone is the historic and cultural core of Hyderabad under GHMC, centred around the UNESCO World Heritage-nominated Charminar monument. The zone covers the dense Old City neighbourhoods of Yakutpura, Malakpet, Moosarambagh, Santoshnagar, and the Charminar bazaar area, comprising 5 circles and 25 wards.
Charminar Zone is famous for its pearl markets, bangles, biryani, and centuries-old mosques and palaces. It has one of the highest population densities in Hyderabad and is a major tourist destination. Residents rely on GHMC for all civic services including road maintenance, property tax, drainage, and sanitation.
