Uppal Zone covers the eastern growth corridor of the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC), including the IT and industrial areas of Nacharam, the residential colonies of Kapra and Kushaiguda, and the fast-growing Boduppal and Ghatkesar areas along the Warangal Highway. The zone comprises 5 circles and 24 wards.
Uppal Zone has benefited significantly from the extension of Hyderabad Metro's Blue Line, which connects Uppal to the city centre and further west to HITEC City. The area is popular with working-class and middle-income families, with a mix of individual houses, gated apartments, and industrial estates at IDA Nacharam and Cherlapally. MMC handles all civic services for Uppal Zone.
